Thank you for taking the time to submit a pull request.

Would it be possible to provide some background on the removal of the monophthong /o/ to diphthong 'oU' mapping?

I imagine this has to do with fixing Issue #6. @CJDennis left a comment there.

Besides that:

  1. Opens up the tool for languages besides English, with monophthong /o/. (I imagine that's a very big task though it interprets English phonemes, broadly transcribed.)
  2. The RP diphthong is usually transcribed as /əʊ/. (That said, people don't usually write '/o/' by itself as an English phoneme, right?)

ETA: Seems that without this commit, /o/ is mapped to oU even if it's already part of a diphthong. So /oʊ/ returns oUU.

@bripmccann /o/ can be the vowel in "dog", or "or" (different vowels), depending on your accent. Different sources are very inconsistent about what sound this symbol represents!
