The shoes lasted 25-30 hours of walking before needing repairs to the LED strips. This is due to the LED strip flexing with each step. The arduino + accelerometer worked flawlessly for 6 nights in a row. A single 1300 mAh 3.7v lipo battery powers a single shoe for ~25 hours.

Parts for one shoe

• arduino - I used Adafruit Flora

• accelerometer - I used Adafruit LSM303

• strip of LEDs - I used a 22-LED strip of LPD8806

• battery - I used 1300 mAh 3.7v lithium ion polymer (similar)

• 4-pin cable with male and female plug - I used 4-pin JST SM

• additional insulated wire and heatshrink

• velcro

• plastidip

• high quality superglue
