WorldEditArt | Concepts
Before reading this, please clear (or temporarily clear) all your knowledge about WorldEdit or WorldEditor. Some terms/commands in WorldEditArt are different. WorldEditArt is an innovative plugin; please support the innovation by not trapping your knowledge in Bukkit WorldEdit or @shoghicp's WorldEditor plugins.
An anchor is a position that you selected. You can select an anchor by the //anchor
command.
Anchors are used in real life by ships to keep ships at a location. Anchors are heavy metal grips. Sailors throw them into the sea, then it sinks to the bottom of the sea. The ship is chained to the anchor, so when other forces like wind or water current push the ship away, the anchor, which grips the seabed at one side, keeps the ship at the same place at another side.
Example photo of an anchor.
Of course, anchors in WorldEditArt aren't to chain yourself. 😁 It is to leave a mark there so that when you run commands later, your position will be assumed as at that anchor.
Note that only some commands accept anchors.
TODO explain block patterns
TODO explain macros that are by default disabled in current beta.
Different from the conventional selections in old world edit plugins, WorldEditArt selections are not always cuboids. Currently, three shapes are supported:
- **cuboids **(again)
- spheres
- cylinder (hmm? new thing in MCPE)
To create selections, please refer to the commands section.
After selecting a selection, you can do these things with it:
- setting all blocks inside it to a block pattern
- replacing blocks of some types inside it into a block pattern
- copying/cutting blocks inside it (not available in current beta)
So you see, selections in WorldEditArt are not like traditional selections.
