StepCraft has become a well known CNC machine manufacture for hobbiest and beginning profesionals with there D series product. And recently they entered the semi-profesionall market with the M series portfolio. StepCraft is not the cheapest brand. But overal their products are good. But over the year users tend to do upgrades. Doing them with Stepcraft kits is quite expensive. That is why the idea of an open source board dedicated for the SC D series portfolio comes to live.
The object is to design an open source board that can be used by all StepCraft user with a D-series unit. Preferly a board that can easily be assembled by a hobbiest at home.
- Dual Y motor (similar to performance kit)
- Encoder inputs for Y motors
- Multi axis support (X, Y1, Y1, Z, A, B)
- Relay outputs for vacuum and spindle
- Multiple PWM outputs for laser, spindle RPM, ...
- DC/DC to generate 12V output for laser
- LED strip support for lighting
- LTP parellel port input for control (for example UCCNC -> UC100).
