UXL Foundation Steering Committee Meeting 27 June 2024

Notes:

  • Updates were provided - The Khronos and UXL Foundation blog was published - The submission made to the PyTorch conference was rejected - Two new members have joined (Denso and Wipro) - A new work package was approved to re-structure the oneMKL project
  • Rod showed the current work packages in progress, and a list of possible work packages - The intention is to show where members and the community can contribute
  • Andrew Richards was invited to present on where the Level 0 specification should live - The recommendation is to move it outside the main oneAPI specification - There is no interest in this API from members apart from Intel - Members will take time to consider the proposal and make a decision in two weeks
  • The poll to measure support for a new project to be invited to the foundation was discussed - It was agreed that Rod will reach out to individuals to achieve consensus - The group will move to make a decision on this topic soon
