Slurp latest project version in from Clojars for the "Getting Started" page

Ideally we'd inject the latest project version into a script tag fetched from Clojars on page load. I don't know the JSON call to get this from Clojars, but would love help!

This looks like the closest you can get using the search API

Ah, nice. The easiest thing might just be to slurp the version out of project.clj and figure out the previous one... this only breaks for minor and major version bumps.
