I'm glad that I successfully completed the task and overcame the initial challenges. It's great that I was able to find solutions to the issues I encountered along the way. Learning from challenges is an essential part of the process, and it's wonderful that I gained valuable insights throughout the course.

I'm assuming this is the right place for feedback on the exercise for the module Leverage GitHub Actions to publish to GitHub Packages

I encountered difficulties with this course as all the documentation recommends using the GITHUB_TOKEN to authenticate, but publishing a package using this means the grading workflow does not trigger in order to prevent recursive workflows. It would be useful if the instructions point this out and tell you you'll need to use a Personal Access Token despite all the guidance recommending against it.

Following on from this, I started the course attempting to publish a package using npm which worked fine with the GITHUB_TOKEN, however once I realised I needed to use the PAT instead I wasn't able to login to npm in the command line within the workflow as the command npm login cannot be made non-interactive to be able to pass the username and password/token. I was not able to successfully input the username and password into my .npmrc via the workflow (I did not try putting my access token into the file directly as it is a public repository) - this may all be because I am not familiar with publishing node packages, only using them.

After trying and failing to fix this in many different ways, I switched to using docker and found this a whole lot easier as switching to a PAT is as simple as replacing the GITHUB_TOKEN with the PAT and I was finally able to complete the exercise.
