I thought about it quite lot when implementing original shout, but it would probably be a big pain in the rear. The chat is however still unfinished and I might just add it if I feel like it (exam period is beginning so every procrastination idea is great).

max 10 seconds? I'd suggest more time, like 5 mins at least, because it sometimes takes only 10 seconds for the message to appear (when the lag happens)

It is definitely not a bad idea, but I think ten minutes is too much, I would make it two.
