@markkerzner and myself were today discussing converting some of his regex epression into .jape rules which can be run on any Gate application and subsequently as part of a larger MemexGATE workflow.
We identified a number of rules which will provide us with scalable, accurate extractions for the following features

  • Legal file name
  • Case Number
  • Case Name
  • Case Type
  • Court
  • County
  • State
  • Judge
  • District Attorney
  • Legal Keywords
  • Initial Hearing Date/Date of Filing
  • Appeal Date (if present within Court of Appeals)
  • Gap Days (diff between initial and filing date)
  • Mode of Conviction
  • Crime(s)
  • Witnessing Judges
  • Defendant-Appealant
  • Defendant-Respondent
    Assistant District Attorney

I've structured the MemexGATE repository such that we can add rules to the relevant folder
e.g.

memex-gate/gate_jape/electronics

We can create legal directory

An example .jape file with a number of rules exists for the electronics domain.

Hi @markkerzner do you want to merge your contributions into core? Today I am setting us up a new VM which MemexGATE will be deployed to. I am also going to work on a UI so we can hopefully mock something up for Friday. If you can merge in your most recent gazetteers and rules then we can make sure the most recent rules are running for a mock up. How does that sound?
