modulation of parameters #25
Comments
hnds is super easy to implement, and I certainly don't mind doing it if there's interest. :) |
I'll have time to start on this tomorrow. Any thoughts on "must have" modulation targets, and maybe the modulate-able range of those targets? |
The change (probability of a change to the step) and restfreq (frequency of a step gate being off) parameters are the most logical candidates for slow modulation. I think it could also possibly work for 1) scalar transposition up and down, 2) shift left and right, and 3) the dispersion parameter. |
I think one of the challenges will be how to add this to the UI. Just noting that Encoder 3 is still available and there are 8 unassigned (kind of) LEDs on the settings page. All those LEDs currently reset all the sequences to step 0, so that they will all be in sync. @justmat If you code the modulation, I can take a look at the UI solution once I know what the parameters are. Thanks! |
Apologies for the delay here. Things have been a bit busier than I expected. |
No worries! |
I set up 4 different sounds in VCV Rack sequenced by 4 MIDI channels coming from Quence. I was just listening to these sequences slowly evolve (randomness parameters = 3-5) and started thinking it would be cool if the Randomness and RestFrequency parameter slowly modulated themselves. Either from some internal LFO or random source, or from some external source like RACK or Ableton.
