People have used different spellings across different pages in the book. I'm wondering if there's one spelling we can decide on to use across the board for consistency.
After looking through English/French, sections 1...5, I sometimes see capital on one side, lowercase on the other, so we lack consistency across languages.
Google translate, also shows this problem when deciphering Chinese, Farsi, Japanese.
I guess start with the English for consistency, and if you recognize it in another language, you could fix that too. Since it's supposed to be a book, best to work with "lower case", since that's how you'd write it in school. "Lowercase" and "lower-case" is probably better left for programming preferences, or technical jargon which may prefer one or the other.
I hope this resolves your question (as tardy as this reply was) ;-P
For consistency, which alternative spelling would be best to use in the book?
