When looking at the PRs for adding a user to a feedstock, we can see that the readme doesn't get updated, see for example here and here.

The readme only gets updated after a re-render, see here.

The readme update is not as easy as the rest and so it is skipped right now. If someone has the time to workout a reliable update, then we should go for it. The issue is that conda smithy can change how the readme is formatted and so any code would go out of date eventiually. The codeowners and recipe updates are in structured files.
