Show a page / overview when clicking on a parent menu entry instead of just expanding the children

It isn't easy for me to find the right words for this, but this is feature that's pretty important for me and it seems to be missing in many Hugo themes including this one:

When I click on a parent menu entry in the sidebar, it just expands the child entries. It is great that it does this!
(there are themes that don't even do this but just show a static expanded menu).

But what I'm really missing is that when I click on such a parent, that while expanding the menu, I also see an overview page - either with its own description of what this section/category is about, or even showing a list of cards with more info about the children as an overview directly on that page.

Maybe this feature already exists and I just don't know the setting / parameter for this? If yes, it's fine, maybe you can tell me how I can enable this. Otherwise I'll stay with another theme, although I really like the overall structure of this one.

I'm still struggling with the menus anyway and I'm not sure if this theme is still in active development. But since you stated somewhere that you are open for feedback, I definitely wanted to leave this here.
