It might also be helpful to be able to try the filter on a small toy dump, to see if it gives the desired results, and to see what the results look like in general. From looking at the "recent dumps", it appears to me that some requests have gone rather wrong ...

Should the tool be able to run against its existing dumps?

e.g. if someone makes a subset of all the Species, and someone else subsets against that for vertebrates, ...?
