Could you please include the README file in the list of files shipped with the gem? It provides useful information on how to use this library, and it would be great to have it around.
The gem is what is used as primary material to create the corresponding package in Debian for example (when possible). Some users wish they could have this README available in the package. See for example https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=1033356.
