  • I have installed Indicator-sensors from SNAP
  • I've set it on my my top panel
  • It displays what it is when my cursor is on it
  • Right click is for the panel, not the software
  • Left click gives an error message: "No sensor enabled for monitoring" and the wheel
    keeps turning and turning...
  • Same if I click from the -main menu

I simply can't get the menu to appear. So, no access to the "preference" to set the hardware to monitor.

I'm on XUBUNTU
VERSION="20.04.5 LTS (Focal Fossa)"
ID=ubuntu
ID_LIKE=debian
PRETTY_NAME="Ubuntu 20.04.5 LTS"
VERSION_ID="20.04"

I checked the other posts and you mention the need for libappindicator. However, according to Ubuntu, it seems that this application is not used and supported anymore. In other package-related (semi-Xubuntu-related) news, Ayatana indicators have replaced the original libappindicator and libindicator in Ubuntu, with the originals demoted from main to universe. libappindicator and libindicator have been removed entirely from Debian.

Here's the link: [https://blog.bluesabre.org/2021/10/03/xubuntu-development-update-september-2021/]

So the indicator-sensors snap assumes you have support for appindicators via ayatana indicators - can you share a screenshot perhaps of what you are seeing? I don't run xubuntu myself so I can't reproduce this easily.

Sure!

  1. The top bar. Your icon is 3rd from the left.
  2. I bring my cursor on top of it and this appears.
  3. The error message I get few seconds after clicking on it.

What I can't get on the screen is the spinning wheel. It appears after clicking and stays on until I click once or twice on something else.
