Failure to render large pieces

Hi @aaron-siegel - per our convo on MPD, here's the file I found that seems to run out of stack while rendering. It does complete rendering successfully on the latest release of OpenSCAD, so my hunch that the tail recursion is helping might be proven out, but I'm opening the issue it just in case it's still exposing potential for underlying optimization.
