I would suggest releasing the code under the GPL-3.0-or-later or AGPL-3.0-or-later license so that others are encouraged to contribute changes back to your project.

+1, @VolosR this is an awesome project and having a license would mean that anyone can make improvements and use your code in their own projects (with credit). It's very simple to add a license on the GitHub website, here's a quick guide.

The above suggested GPL 3 is a great fit for this project, but if you don't care and just want to release this in the public domain with no restrictions you can also use The Unlicense.
