Describe the bug
On the latest Modrinth release for 1.21 (as of 8 July 2024), when enabling touch controls and using them to move the camera, touching the screen to move the crosshair causes violent snapping movements of the camera.

Touching above the crosshair causes the camera to snap upwards, and touching below causes a snap downwards.

I am using the Fabulously Optimized modpack in conjunction.

Reproducing the circumstances

  1. Install the 1.21 version of FabOptimized. Remove Controllify and install the two MidnightControls+Extras mods.
  2. Switch the mode in Midnight's mod options to touch controls.
  3. Use a device with a touchscreen. I am using a foldable 2-in-1 HP laptop.
  4. Attempt to move the camera as you would on mobile Bedrock editions of Minecraft.
  5. Writhe in agony as the camera snaps upwards or downwards

Expected behavior
No unusably violent camera snapping. Expected typical camera movement behavior as observed on mobile Bedrock editions.

Desktop environment:

  • OS Fedora Linux 40 Workstation
  • Minecraft 1.21
  • Mods Fabulously Optimized (minus Controllify)
  • Version 1.9.7

Actually the entire touch control feature is extremely bugged. Yes I know it is in beta. It feels more like some nightly alpha build though.

It used to work way better before, but somehow it became unsuable again in a recent Minecraft update. I'll have another look at it.
