Bug: Steam deck virtual keyboard registers twice #287

Describe the bug
Typing in the steam deck results like this

Intended: "Hello world"
Unintended: "HHeelllloo wwoorrlldd"

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Install polymc
Install the fabric + midnightcontrols via polymc
Create a world or join a server
open chat and try to type

Expected behavior
Normal touch screen typing behavior

OS: SteamOS
Minecraft 1.20-1.21
Fabric loader
Fabric API

Additional context
I have also tested this on other versions and instances, I am pretty sure that this is a bug in the mod itself
