841 EEProm Erasure

I'm being a squeaky wheel today- sorry! I just wanted more pins, and i've been moving to the 841 platform, and am experiencing troubles.

I have two programs:

I flash the first program, and I see the appropriate message through serial. However on flashing the second program, the memory gets wiped. Odd, right? Here is the back to back serial output:

Okay I cannot explain this, but this is no longer reproducible. Must be a PEBKAC.
