This is a very unique feature that will set this app apart. No other music player to my knowledge, other than Samsung Music, implements such a widget.
I would like a widget on the home screen that displays the current queue/playlist such that I can choose any song from the home screen without opening the app.
(I will be more than happy to sponsor you for this feature)
Problem solved
It's a well-known element of good design when you can access all relevant content within only three interactions. If you primarily use your phone for music, like me, these are your interactions:
Unlock the phone
Click the home button
Choose your song
Other implementations
Here is an example from Samsung Music:
(I would continue to use Samsung Music, but I upgraded to an Xperia, which isn't Samsung)
Benefit
This feature allows quick access to resume or choose their favorite songs right from the home screen. It's always one home-button press away to access your playlist
Duplicates
I have checked this feature request for duplicates.
I have checked that this feature is not implemented in the lastest version.
In terms of other widgets with related behavior, I don't use Spotify but one of their widget iterations appears to have had a singular upcoming track feature which could be clicked.
While both Apple Music and Spotify expand the bottom of their larger widgets to show a selection of thumbnails for recently/most played tracks (somewhat related).
