"Game 19, Naples, latest turn results indicates that Italian forces overran my forces in E35/40. This does not make sense, that Italy could overrun 410 battalions containing 155,800 troops with only 256,000 of his own, not including my ally Spain with another 56,000 troops in E35/40 as well, who then lost a battle by himself against the entire 256,000 Italian troops! PS It was actually a combined Naples/Spain force that got overrun, followed by the arrival of Spanish reinforcements, who had to fight a second battle on their own"
There is no explanation for this overrun since he had 410 battalions army (>50)
Overrun rules:
Overrunning Enemy Forces
When two enemy land forces meet and the ratio of their sizes in terms of battalions is bigger than 10:1, then the smaller enemy is automatically destroyed and the larger army continues its movement.
An army consisting of at least 50 battalions, will always stop an enemy force regardless of their ratio.
The overrun takes place irrespective of the force that is causing the forces to meet, i.e. the overrun may be a result of the small force’s movement.
The condition for an overrun is checked on each movement order separately, therefore it is not possible to overrun an enemy by moving different armies over the same sector, so that in total they satisfy the required condition.
If the smaller force is inside a fortress, i.e. the sector of the fortress belongs to the smaller force, an overrun will not take place irrespective of their relative sizes.
