It might be more beneficial to use a different blog platform such as Ghost, which is more optimised for this purpose.

This would still be self hosted but would provide us with an existing template and online CMS - blog posts could be created straight on the website and drafted/scheduled, instead of having to be done in individual markdown files

@tachyons @satu0king do we want to use Ghost? If yes, I will assign this as good first issue for Open Source Day.

Currently we use netlify host to blog for free. If we want blog editing in ghost without local setup, we will have to host it ourselves. It costs money.

I kept this issue open intentionally as we had troubles in writing blogs for those who aren't familiar with markdown format. So we have to keep this issue open though not high priority for now

Well at-least it should be GitHub flavored Markdown, Hugo doesn't even support HTML tags, which sometimes becomes necessary. I would prefer Jekyll since it's highly flexible.
