Netherlands RIVM ceases reporting COVID-19 deaths as of Jan 1, 2023

On January 1, 2023, the Netherlands' RIVM ceased reporting COVID-19 deaths (source). This change eliminates our ability to collect subnational deaths for the Netherlands. Moving forward, our subnational and national cases will continue to be sourced from RIVM while national level deaths will be sourced from the WHO COVID-19 Dashboard. Subnational deaths will be held stale. The difference between the stale subnational total and the national level total of WHO will be placed in "Unassigned, Netherlands". It is unclear if RIVM ceasing independent reporting will impact the totals reported by WHO, but we will monitor.
