GESI installed, Eve character authorisation fail

hi :)

are you able to offer any advice pls? I installed GESI for Google Sheets (successfully I believe) yet when I then tried to authenicate a character for Eve Online I get an error when using the verification code sent to my email address. I have tried numerous times, and within the allowed timespan, but with the same error.

fwiw - during this effort with GESI I successfully logged in to the Eve Online game via the game client using the exact same details that failed with GESI and Google Sheets.
